A router is a device that takes several computers and allows them to access the Internet using the same internet service provider address. ISP routers also work as firewalls and network hubs. Most people use routers every day when accessing the Internet in public locations, such as at work or at the library. Setting up a wireless network in your home is easy. Start by buying a wireless broadband router that is compatible with your computer and Internet connection. Connect the router to the modem, and connect an Ethernet cable to the router. At this point, connect your modem according to the software provided and connect the wireless adapter if needed. It takes little more than an hour, with minimal computer understanding, to install a wireless broadband router. If you think you might be interested in having a wireless network in your home, then you need to keep your eyes open for a great deal on a wireless router. Once you have your router, all you have to do is set it up. |
