Quiet Vacuum Cleaners - A Popular Premium Choice

There is now a range of vacuum cleaners to choose from, and people are often confused about what to buy. Matters become worse when one studies the specifications given for a particular model, because what people are actually looking for in a vacuum cleaner is not mentioned! People basically care about how efficiently vacuum cleaners work, how much area they clean per minute, and if they are quiet vacuum cleaners.

Most vacuum cleaners are intrusive when it comes to noise levels. It is indeed a pleasant surprise if there are quiet vacuum cleaners which allow one to continue with a conversation in a room while it is being cleaned, or if one can talk on the telephone while vacuuming! Several leading vacuum cleaner manufacturing companies now seem to have woken up to the fact that people do not want the world to know when they are cleaning their homes, and would prefer a gentle whirr instead of a deafening roar. Many of them now advertise their patented systems for quiet vacuum cleaners as a big plus point. However quiet vacuum cleaners come at premium prices.

The Secret behind Quiet Vacuum Cleaners

Vacuum cleaners function with the help of centrifugal fans that have high speeds and produce greater suction. This however makes them inherently noisy. In many normal vacuum cleaners, air is sucked in, and flows past the motor, cooling it in the process. This is an efficient system, but can be used only in dry vacuum cleaners. In wet/dry vacuums, the air flow bypasses the motor and a separate air flow cools it. This is less efficient and noisier as well. In order to increase efficiency and reduce noise, vacuum cleaners need to have certain extra features. The cross section of the hose of most vacuum cleaners is usually 1.6 inches. However, if it is wider - over 2 inches in diameter - it increases airflow and efficiency and reduces the noise.

Other features in quiet vacuum cleaners are sound insulated motors, low-noise floor nozzles, and soft wheels. Certain special noise reducing system of certain brands are very quiet at low and high speeds with all attachments, except with a turbo nozzle. Soft-coated large wheels protect the floors, reduce noise, and these quiet vacuum cleaners can be maneuvered quietly and easily.

Quiet vacuum cleaners are worth the extra expenses, as noise over 70 decibels is unpleasant, and is a health hazard. Many global commercial establishments now work around the clock. They need their work to proceed undisturbed by the cleaning services. Quiet vacuum cleaners are necessities for these places.
