Power Tools Take Burden Out Of Hard Work

Since the days of chopping down trees with a stone tied to a stick, finding ways to make hard work easier and faster has led to the development of power tools with which to perform a variety of tasks. From the two-man saw to chain saws and from the simple screwdriver to the power driver, power tools have made life easier for everyone from the average homeowner to professional builders.

There are many different grades of power tools including those designed for the homeowner for occasional use, the homeowner who gets more involved in home repairs and the hobbyists, the professional and industrial users who demand quality and durability for their investment. The tool industry has answered the call with many power tools that can perform very useful tasks as well as some others that look good on paper but have not been readily accepted by society.

In the early days of power tools, everything had a cord that limited the mobility of the user. Power saws and drills all had cords that had to be plugged in, requiring the work be close to a power source. Extension cords gave workers a longer leash but true mobility came with the development of rechargeable batteries in tools.

Batteries Are Lifeline Of Tool Industry

Today's power tools are fed by rechargeable batteries with homeowners and professionals addicted to being able to pop a new battery into the device and start working. There is no need to have an outlet handy to use anything from an electric drill to an impact wrench. While the batteries still need charged, that can be done on a workbench while the user usually has at least one spare battery charged and ready to go.

Home builders may possibly be the largest group of users of power tools and the rechargeable units come in extremely handy on a job site to which electricity has not yet been connected. Although the life of the battery will depend on the stress of the job being done, most workers will have several batteries charged for use throughout the day.

Consider everything in daily life that requires the use of power tools and it begins to become evident how much slower things would get done without them. Practically every hand tool that has ever been developed is available with a motor that can be plugged in or operated by battery, allowing people to work faster and with less effort than ever before.
