Instructions On How To Create A Milk Bottle Bird House

It really is a great hobby or a great pastime if you find joy in just savoring the feeling of being close to nature like bird watching or gardening. And it really is automatic in you that you want to make the landscape of your yard or garden nothing but exquisite and that is why you fill them with different kinds of plants and flowers. Probably, you have already placed a bird house or two to accentuate the whole picture of your yard and at the same time, provide a temporary shelter to your feathered friends.

But there is another way in which you could create a bird house and at the same time, help the environment through recycling and reusing some of the materials that you may think already belongs to the garbage and one of the best ways to do that is by creating a milk bottle bird house. If you are clueless as to how to make a milk bottle bird house, then here are the instructions you could follow to build one for you own yard.

Steps To Follow

Building a milk bottle bird house for your feathered friends is one of the greatest ways in which you could help save the environment, save yourself some money, and at the same time, provide a temporary nesting place or shelter for the birds that may be frolicking in your area. You may think that creating a milk bottle bird house is hard or complicated but the instruction as to how to construct it is pretty much like the instructions that you have for creating recycled pop bottle to create a bird house.

First thing that you will need is a milk bottle or a half a gallon of empty milk bottle and clean it thoroughly with soap and water. Let it dry out and be sure that they are free from dirt and debris. Afterwards, what you could do is to drill two small holes at the bottom of the bottle where it would serve as the top of your milk bottle bird house. What you could do next is thread through one hole into another and be sure that you would twist the ends of the wire to make a loop for hanging your feeder. Use a duct tape or caulk to seal the holes to be sure that rain would not enter your bird house.

After which, what you could do is to drill 5/16" holes on the opposite sides of the bottle where you could insert an eight or nine inch by 5/16" dowels into the pairs of holes where birds could rest. If you are interested in making a series of perches, just repeat these instructions but make sure that you create an ample amount of distance in between. Do not forget to cut out an entry way into your bird house on one of the sides and create a right size of a square or rectangle where you want your birds to enter.
