Why the Masticating Juicer Differs From Other JuicersThe Truth About Fiber and the Nutrients That we get From Vegetables Consuming fiber is not always the best way to get nutrients. Are you surprised? If so, know that you certainly should not be. The fiber that we obtain from green vegetables is ordinarily very valuable in digestion and the prevention of constipation. However, a little known fact is that fiber traps inside it a lot of nutrients. These nutrients are, in the process of digestion, lost to the body because the stomach and the intestine are not able to extract it from the fiber before it is processed and expelled. Imagine a large conveyor belt moving at high speed, where you are required to pick some valuable ingredients. When the chance comes, you try your best but to you dismay, find that the majority of the valuables have been lost, because you failed to pick them up in time. This is exactly what is happening in your stomach. The digestive process is much faster that the ability of the system to pick up all the nutrients from the fiber. Hence, the better part of the nutrients is expelled with the body waste. The masticating juicer prevents this loss by extracting the nutrients from the pulp of the vegetable, unlike the blender which blends the fiber with the juice. In this way, the masticating juicer uses the fiber to extract all that is valuable nutrients in the vegetable (and even fruit). These extracted nutrients are then, easily digested in the stomach and thus absorbed into the system and body. The main difference between the masticating juicer and the blender, is that the former separates the fiber from the nutrients while the latter, blends the fiber with the nutrients. When ingested, the juice from the masticating juicer is readily absorbed by the system with no problem because there is no fiber to extract it from; on the other hand, the absorption rate from a smoothie is much less, since even when blended, the fiber holds the nutrients enmeshed tightly, allowing for a very low nutrient-absorbance rate. |
