Purchasing Fountains Via Mail OrderFear of Damage - Not Well Founded! When it comes to purchasing a delicate item such as a fountain through the mail, there will be serious concerns as to whether or not shipping such items is safe. After all, fountains are comprised of many small components and if these components are damaged your purchase becomes worthless. Such fears are understandable, but one must also understand that damage to items during shipping is rare. The post office is quite reliable when it comes to delivering mail and even bulky and sensitive packages are delivered with relative ease. If fear of damage were a concern, then it would be best to purchase postal insurance. Now, while some may scoff at this, as being a needless expense the reality is that the post office provides insurance at a fairly reasonable rate. In fact, purchasing insurance probably would cost only a nominal fee based upon the actual cost of the item itself. Most mail order companies will provide an option for purchasing postal insurance when you fill out their order form. If they do not provide such information on the order form, contact them in advance and mention that you are making a purchase of a small fountain set up and wish to have postal insurance added to the order. More than likely, they will comply with this reasonable request. Post Office Alternatives If you are still ill at ease about mail order shipping, you may wish to have your fountains delivered by a private company such as UPS of Federal Express. With these companies, the ability to track the packages is more reliable and the ability to receive compensation for a damaged product may be somewhat easier. Of course, one must also realize that these private companies will charge extra for shipping so the added service comes with added costs. That is a trade off one must accept, but it does alleviate worries about anything potentially happening to the ordered fountain. |
