Craftsmen like cherry because it is a bit easier to cut and shape and when the piece of cherry baby furniture is done it tends to be a little more durable than any other the other woods. The density of cherry wood makes for some very sturdy, and slightly heavier, cherry baby furniture that can last for a very long time and can be handed down from generation to generation. A Smooth Finish Cherry wood also has the ability to be sanded down to a very smooth and consistent surface that looks absolutely beautiful when the finishing coats are put on it. In the end there is nothing quite like the look and feel of well made cherry baby furniture. It really does take a skilled craftsman to turn cherry into furniture but when it is done there is no furniture like it. I remember that my friend did get a cherry wood high chair and he asked me one time how you can prove that something is made of cherry wood versus oak or any other kind of wood. I told him to burn it and if it smells like cherry then you have cherry wood. I'm not sure his wife appreciated that little bit of advice at all. |
