Things To Look For IN your BMW Repair Shop

If you need to get your BMW fixed and can not get it to the dealership, there are some very specific things to look for in your BMW shop. The first thing is I would make sure that they carry some kind of certficiation from BMW, if not then they are not really a BMW repair shop. In my experience I have found that many mechanics like to think they can fix anything, but to be a true BMW repair shop you need to be trained on BMW's They are very specific and finely tuned machines capable of super high performance, I would not recommend even considering looking at someone who is not certified.

Steps Towards Choosing A BMW Repair Shop

The first thing I would find out what the BMW repair cost will be for going to the shop. If they can not or will not get an estimate, do not go there. Next find out what parts they plan to use in the repair process and make sure that those parts are certified as being approved for use by BMW. Do not take the mechanics word that the parts they want to use are better even though they are not certified by BMW. That may work in your Camaro, but a BMW is tuned a specific way and requires specific parts to function properly. Without those parts there is no way you can guarantee that the car will perform as it should, so make sure of that.

Lastly I would see if you can get reviews on the BMW repair shop. One thing BMW owners are very good at is sticking together and forming a community. If you can not find any information on the BMW repair shop, then more then likely you are taking an unneeded risk. It is probably better to start with the group and get their recommendation so that you can find the right dealership to get the job done.

I would recommend going to a dealership to get all the work done on your car that you can, but in some cases that is just not possible and you have to use a BMW repair shop that is not a BMW service center. For these times it is best to do as much research as you can before letting them work on your car. I know for myself I worked very hard to get my BMW and I do not want someone screwing it up, especially when it can be avoided. Take the time to make the right decision and your car will thank you for it.
