When it comes to choosing bathroom faucets there is an overwhelming number of options for finishes. Stainless steel, chrome, brass or brushed nickel, but how do you know which bathroom faucets to choose for your house. Which are the best ones to use. Each of these finishes have both pros and cons that can influence your overall decision on which bathroom faucets you want to purchase.

Stainless Steel

This is one of the most popular finishes for bathroom faucets. It is designed to be rugged and long lasting with a blend of steel alloys and chromium. It is also one of the more cheaper options and they come in a variety of shapes and styles. The benefits of stainless steel is that is won't corrode or tarnish, it is easy to clean, it blends well with most bathroom décor, it is long lasting and it is a solid material with no plating. However, stainless steel bathroom faucets still have some drawbacks including the fact that it shows fingerprints, it can be scratched and later rush will appear at the site and over time it can become dull.

Chrome

Chrome bathroom faucets are created by electroplating the chrome finish over a solid brass fixture. These are silver in color like stainless steel and are more shiny. These are also very economical, but you can still find higher priced models with extra designs. The benefits of chrome bathroom faucets is that they don't scratch or corrode, they resist tarnish and they are long lasting. However, they will show water spots, they need to be cleaned regularly to be shiny and the chrome finish can wear off after an extended period of time.



Brass

These are a bit less common than bathroom faucets made from stainless steel or chrome. Although they have been used in bathrooms for a long time. They are made of a single metal unlike stainless steel and chrome which means there is no metal blends and no plating. These will be a bit more expensive than other options and there are less choices. Brass bathroom faucets will give you a distinct look, replicates gold but is cheaper and is a solid material. However if it is not sealed it can rust, it is more costly than other options, it tarnishes over time, fingerprints will show and it can scratch.

Brushed Nickel

These are the newest option in bathroom decorating trends. Like chrome these are electro--plated which means the nickel plating is done over solid brass. There are many style to choose from since this is the current popular option and you can likely find a design that matches your style for a price that fits in your budget. The finish on these bathroom faucets doesn't show scratches, fingerprints or water spots and they don't tarnish easily. However, they are more expensive than other options due to their current popularity and the plating can wear off over time.
